Zanana Social: a problem shared is a problem halved

  • Scottish Poetry Library 5 Crichton's Close, Canongate Scotland, EH8 8DT United Kingdom (map)

A problem shared is a problem halved.

Creatives of Colour bring your problems - tiny or gigantic, everyday or profound - to the Zanana Social. Together, we'll collectively problem-solve during this hands-on workshop. This is your space to chat, vent and speak your truth in a supportive environment.

Don't worry this is a casual, friendly event. Whether you come with a friend or by yourself, you will be welcome.

Open to all who are active in the Scottish creative industries, and identify as People of Colour (POC) +/or Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic (BAME).

Help us spread the word: #zananasocial

Creative industries can include:

Advertising, architecture, art, craft, design, fashion, film, music, performing arts, publishing, R&D, software, toys, games, TV and radio, and video games.

You could be a creative producer, in a more infrastructure role (i.e. marketing, admin etc.) or a student.

Venue information:

This Zanana Social is generously hosted by The Scottish Poetry Library. This venue is fully accessible, has a ground-floor entrance and a lift that accesses all three floors. There is one adapted toilet on the basement floor.

Guide and hearing dogs are welcome. A portable audio loop is available for single user. Do let me know if you need an audio loop or any additional requirements.

About the organisers:

Organised by LAPEYRE & LAPEYRE, we've created Zanana Social to support the amazing work of Scottish Creatives of Colour. By bringing Creatives of Colour together across disciplines: we hope to inspire you with engaging stories, empower you and support your ambitions. LAPEYRE & LAPEYRE are Scottish/Mauritian siblings who are unleashing transcultural creative projects that aim to inspire and provoke.
